Special Projects

MONET/North

The MONET/North (Photo: Stathis Kafalis) was set up in 2005 by the Institute for Astrophysics in Göttignen (IAG) at Mt. Locke in Texas/USA, but never got a MPC code.

For the use of the MONET telescopes for asteroid and comet research, we would like to request the MPC code from the Minor Planet Center. This is a typical calibration project for a scientific instrument.

Dumbbell Nebula (M27)

Goldilock or NSV 24959 is a variable star from typ Mira. In 2016, a group of students from the Pascal Gymnasium in Münster published an article in the BAV newsletter Nr. 2 (ISSN 0405-5497) about the change cycle. Based on our measurements and research, we predict a period of 214 days.

Now we want to test our prediction with new daily measurements.
